Well, the kids have now broken up for their summer holidays and the long range weather forecast is out too. This weekend I travelled back in time to 1917 for Tanfield Railway’s annual Great War Weekend This year’s event, in my opinion, was the best “Great War Weekend” I have covered at Tanfield Railway. Lots of people turned out in period costume including the Durham Pals and 29th Field Kitchen reenactors.
